A few nights ago we went out to Tannebaum Farms to get our Christmas tree. They have trees you can cut yourself or pre-cut trees. We opted for pre-cut this year. You wanted to be on the ground checking everything out, but between the tree baler and the chainsaw, we didn't think that was a good idea so you weren't too happy.
We got it home and put it in the stand to let it open a few days. You didn't bother it at all, so we thought that was a good sign.
A few nights ago we began decorating it. I put the lights on it. You wanted to help so you were checking out the boxes for the lights and making sure they were ok. After dinner we began to decorate it. We put the Dutch wooden shoe on first. We got this on our trip to Holland last summer when I was still pregnant with you. You were ok helping put it on the tree, and then you wanted to take it off the tree...and put it back on the tree...and take it off the tree. So, we just gave it to you to play with while we finished. Unfortunately you wanted to do that with every ornament so we got you interested in your toys again. While we finished decorating, you just sat and watched. I got some great pictures!
We also put a mini tree upstairs. Now whenever you see either tree, it's like you're seeing them for the first time. You point and say, "Oooohhhh." Then you follow it up with, "No, no." You know you're not supposed to touch it and you haven't since the night we put them up. We were expecting we'd have to have a tree that was only decorated above your reach!
Soon there will be presents underneath it. Although you don't fully understand it all yet, I'm excited to see your face on Christmas morning!
