Foods and Playdates

So one of your new things is to feed us pieces of food. Today, for example, I gave you some halved blueberries and some banana puffs and dried bananas. You held a piece out to me so I ate it out of your hand. You thought that was funny so we alternated feeding each other. Sometimes you'll hold a piece out to us, we'll go in for it, and then you'll decide you really do want it. You also got your first "popsicle" recently. I found a recipe where I mixed a banana, blueberries, yogurt, and some flax meal then froze them in ice cube trays. I put one in a mesh feeder for you. You liked it, but boy was it messy. You also decided to offer that to me.

You're able to stand a bit longer on your own. You also used Dixie as a walker the other day. You were standing next to the couch and Dixie was by you. You grabbed onto her tail. She began to walk away and you took about 3 steps behind her still holding on. Then she decided she wasn't having any more of that and went faster than you could go with her.

You have a new favorite game. I lay on the floor on my belly with my knees bent at a 90 degree angle. You then hold onto my feet and pull yourself up. Giggling ensues. Then you get adventurous, let go of my feet, and belly flop onto my butt. I think you're trying to climb onto my back and lay there, but you're still a bit wobbly and end up falling off to one side or the other. Then the game starts all over again.

Today we met Dax and Arwen in Marshall. Your dad and I did birth classes with Arwen and her husband so technically you knew Dax when you were both belly bumps. This was the first time you've been around someone your size and age. You two checked each other out at first and then playing began. He tried to pull you towards him by pulling on your shirt. You decided to hold his hand, stick your fingers in his mouth, and pin him to the ground as he was crawling past you. We took you guys on the swings and you tried to out-laugh each other. We went to get lunch and you were very vocal. You had Arwen cracking up at you. You only stopped making noise when I put food in your mouth. It was a good trip. I wish they lived closer so we could do it more often, but we will definitely do it again!
