Your decision making process

I am very confused by your decision making process. Today for dinner you had some cut up carrots and green beans. The first time through you ate all the green beans first and then ate the carrots. When I gave you the rest of them, you ate all the carrots first and then all the green beans. I don't know if you save your favorite for last or eat them first. Some day you'll be able to tell me.

About 3 days ago you also decided (with some help from us) that you were able and ready to put yourself to sleep at night. Now instead of rocking you to sleep, I'll put you up on my shoulder to burp you. (Now you're getting a bottle at night too.) I put a blanket over you, rock you and bounce you a little bit, tell you good night and I love you and then lay you down. The first night I had to go back in twice to reassure you. Last night you cried for 3 minutes and then stopped. Tonight you cried one whimper and then stopped. You're also sleeping on your belly more, which seems more comfortable for you. You're back to sleeping all the way through the night until about 6:15. That will be perfect for school so don't change! I'll feed you at that point and then we go downstairs. The last few days you've fallen asleep on me again until 8:30/9ish. That's throwing off our nap schedule. I'm trying to get you to stay awake like you would when you're at daycare.

We have also been trying to break you of sleeping in your swing for naps since you'll have outgrown the little travel swing Shawn has at daycare. We were doing ok with that and now you're not having any of that. For a few days I tried doing the same thing for naps as we did at night. That led to a few days of you crying for nearly an hour and a half. You don't cry yourself to sleep. You cry yourself more awake. So we decided to meet you half way for right now: the swing puts you to sleep but we stop the music and the swinging so at least you're sleeping while still.
