Monday morning I woke you up for daycare. You climbed out of bed, sat in your chair and said, "Mama, I awake. I picked out a really, really, really, really good Christems tree."
Monday evening when we got home I put lights on the tree. For the top strands, I put them on then plug them in. For the strands below, I plug them in then put them on. For those, they were still rolled up and on the floor when I lit them. You said, "Wooooowww!" You kneeled down next to them with your face about 2 inches away from them and just stared. You would repeat, "Mama, look at those Christems lights!"
Today Daddy had the day off so he was able to put lights up outside. He said you helped with some of them. He also said at one point you came running over excited about the flag you got. When he asked where you found it, he realized you pulled it off the neighbor's decorations. (They have 2 light-up go-carts. One has a Santa driving and one has a snowman.)
Tonight after dinner, we went outside and you pushed the button on the remote to light the house up. Then we came inside and started putting ornaments on the tree. At first you weren't too interested until Daddy helped you hang some. Then you kept running back to the boxes asking for where one of yours was to hang. Daddy and I had to hang some or they were all going to be on the bottom 3 feet of tree!

Tree complete. In the shadow in the bottom are 2 stuffed reindeer and a stuffed dog with a headband of antlers to look like a reindeer. |
The "Aaron", "Callie", and "Emma" ornaments Grandma got us. I'll have to hunt to see if I can find where to get one for the new baby. |
Hanging one all by yourself. |
Very proud of the Spartan one. |
In other news, you know nearly the whole MSU fight song on your own. You also will narrate the pictures in some of your books, especially your Llama Llama books. If it's not a book we read often, as you flip through it you'll ask what the character is doing on every page. Daddy tells you. I ask you what the character is doing and you figure it out and tell me. (Guess who will give you homework answers in the future and who will make you work for them?)
