Yesterday after your nap, I told you that was the last time you'd sleep in your crib, that your dad and I were going to change it to a big girl bed for the night. I asked if you wanted to sleep in your big girl bed and you started repeating "Big girl bed" (with extra emphasis on the d). When dad got home, we ate dinner and then took the front off your crib and replaced it with a half rail. You climbed in immediately and began to jump saying, "Big girl bed!" We got you to calm down and lie down. I laid in there with you so you understood it wasn't for jumping.
We had to run to Lowe's but when we got back we did the bedtime routine as usual (bath, pajamas, book, rocking chair). After that, you climbed into your big girl bed, laid down, and went to sleep just like normal. No crying or anything. I thought it was entirely too easy so I wondered if the morning would be different. I heard you fuss a bit around 7:30 and then you went right back to sleep. I had to wake you up around 8:30 because we had to be some place by 10:30. I'm wondering how long it will be until you get up and out of bed and start playing early in the morning. You like to sleep with your door closed so you probably won't come out and visit us. Plus, right now you're too short to get the right leverage to turn the door handle. We got you an alarm clock that speaks the time, has a night light, and has a clock face that changes color after the "ok to get up time" that we'll program into it.
