We haven't been pushing you to potty train. You hate getting your diaper changed though. We borrowed a potty chair from the Lawatsch's because you're still not big enough to use just the toilet seat adapter we got. We've had it sitting on the floor of the bathroom for about 2 weeks now. Two nights ago, you got out of the bath and sat down on it. You pointed to the big toilet and said, "Mama," so I sat on it (lid closed). You were looking at me and pretty soon I hear tinkling! You had peed in the potty! You stood up, I had to grab you so I could wipe you before you went running down the hall. Then you went running down the hall like no big thing had happened and peeing on the potty chair was old hat.
Last night, you didn't.
Tonight, you went to sit on the potty. Dad said, "I'll step out because you won't go if I'm in here apparently." (He was not in the night you went, but did hang out last night when you didn't.) He walked out the door, you sat down, and began peeing nearly immediately. I think you now realize it's a bit bigger of a deal because you were looking at me and smiling the whole time.
I don't think I'm going to pressure you to consistently go on the potty yet. I'm at a weeklong conference so you're at daycare all day anyway. Plus, I'd rather wait a bit longer so maybe the whole process goes faster. I'm still very impressed with you, kiddo!
