Signs

You sign "more" and "eat", although your "eat" has a sound with it when you run your hand back and forth between your lips. We've been trying to teach you "all done". We'll have to teach you "please", "thank you", and "sorry" soon. The book we have to show us the signs also has a sign for "diaper". I didn't think we'd bother teaching you that since we can usually smell it if it's bad anyway. Today you gave me further proof we won't need to teach that to you.

I was roasting some sweet potatoes and some pumpkin when we got home after school today. You were pulling things out of drawers and playing in the family room a bit. Then we ate dinner. After dinner I still had to puree the pumpkin so I put you back on ground to play. You crawled into your room. I checked on you and you had pulled out a bunch of diapers. I pulled you out of there and you played for a bit more in the kitchen. I went into your room to put the diapers back in. You followed me, pulled them back out, and then you crawled toward me with one of them. I put you on the changing table to take a look, and sure enough you needed a diaper change. You are so smart! I wonder if this will make potty training easier. One can only hope!
