Signing

I'm very glad we've taught you how to sign. I think you're a happier baby because of it: you're able to actually communicate your needs instead of just crying to where I need to figure out what your individual cries mean. It hasn't impeded your speech either. Now when you sign "more" you also say it.

Two nights ago I showed you "please" once and then you've done it ever since. You impressed Dad yesterday morning with it. You say "mimi" for please, but this is much better. Now we're working on getting you to sign "thank you". It's similar to throwing kisses, which you sort of do already. You can put your hand to your mouth but you don't "throw" them yet. Dad wants to teach you the sign for diaper change too so we can start progressing towards potty training, although I think that's at least 6 months off yet.

We had to take the changing pad off your dresser because you're longer than it and you kept kicking your lamp. Now we just put it on the floor. Without it you roll around while we're trying to change your diaper, which is not funny.
