Emma-isms 4

One morning I was in the kitchen putting my lunch together for school.  I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see you walk in.  For some reason you startled me.  (One would think I'd be used to pitter patter of kiddo feet.)  I gasped, jumped, threw my hand to my chest and said, "Emma!  You scared the crap out of me!"  About 3 days later you were playing with Dad.  You like to run from the family room, through the hallway and kitchen, back into the family room, leap at dad and have him catch you and "fly" you through the air.  You did that and he decided to get up and hide.  He hid behind the chair and as you ran by he jumped out and scared you.  You started giggling and said, "Daddy!  You scared the crap out of me!"  Dad started laughing so hard his face turned red!  You have taken "crap" to daycare, but apparently only say it after I've arrived.

You are back into wanting bubble baths.  We have since run out of bubbles and forgot to get some when we went to Target that day.  The other night I'm in my bedroom feeding Stella, Daddy was in your room getting something, you were watching the tub fill.  I heard you say, "We forgot to get bubbles today.  Damn it."  When I got to daycare this past Monday, you ran a bike into Max's bike and said, "Damn it."  Again, Shawnie said you haven't said that otherwise.  Not quite sure why you say it in my presence.

Between hearing us say some words and listening to music lyrics and singing those, we've had lots of conversations about language.  About 5 days ago we were listening to Mumford and Sons.  One of their songs has the f-word in it.  You never sang that word until that night.  The conversation we had was pretty funny, especially when you filled Daddy in on it later.  I won't retype it here though.  To be funny I have to use the F-word and that just doesn't seem appropriate here.  I'll fill you in on it when you're older though.

You've also taken to calling Stella "baby girl".  I think you got that from me because I hear myself calling you and Stella that.  I still LOVE seeing Stella's face light up in a gigantic smile when she sees you in the morning.  I will never tire of that.
