We've been trying to get Stella to take a bottle. It's been trying. At first she just cried. Now she kind of eats from it. At first I was really concerned I wouldn't be able to go to the Aerosmith concert in July. I think it will be fine now and if not, I'm going to go out and enjoy the concert anyway. If she misses 2 feedings, she'll be fine. Emma took to a bottle and pacifier easily at 3 or so weeks. Once she did she slurped when she nursed, which drive me NUTS so I guess I'd rather have Stella nurse well.
At her 1 month appointment, Stella was 8 pounds 14 ounces! Still about 50th percentile so she's average unlike Emma who is a moose. When she hit 3 weeks, she seemed to want the held a lot more. Thank goodness Brenda got me a Moby wrap. It's a carrier and it has saved us. It's the only way Emma and I have gotten dinner a few nights and Emma a bath a few nights.
Stella, wanting to be held a lot is one of the few ways you are like Emma. Seems as though most everything else is different. You like the rumble Boppy chair but not when it rumbles. Emma liked her swing. You like laying on the jungle playmat while Emma didn't, at least not at first. The bottle and pacifier thing like I mentioned before. You've already slept a 5-hour and a 6-hour stretch the last two nights. I've appreciated that!
Emma, you are ending up in time out a lot for not listening. When dad or I ask you to stop doing something, you usually respond with, "But I'm just (enter excuse here)." I hope that ends soon. You're whining a lot too which is also getting you sent to time out. That seems to be lessening so you must be getting the hint.
Sometimes you'll speak in gibberish and we'll tell you to use your words. A few days ago, you and dad were in the backyard. The little boy next door, JJ, who is 7 months older than you said something to you that you didn't understand. You said, "What?" He repeated it, but you still didn't understand. You said to him, "Speak normal." Oops! That would be from us.
Yesterday we had to get out of the house for a showing. My car was filthy so I decided to get it washed. We went through one of those automated washes. You started to freak out at first. I told you that's how cars get bagpyhs and it's like going through the washing machine. Then you thought it was really cool. I'm afraid to find one of the two of you in the washing machine in a few years!
You also like to draw comparisons between a lot of things. Most things you look at you say, "This is just like..." That's making you really smart -- making all those connections.
You also have to be someone in every story you read or movie or TV show you watch and even puzzle that you do. I have to be someone, so does Daddy, and lately Uncle Jeremy has to be too. You like watching Super Why on PBS. There are 4 characters: Wyatt (Daddy), Princess Pea (you), Wonder Red (me), and Pig (Uncle Jeremy).
