Small Animal Day 2012

Today was MSU's Small Animal Day.  They didn't have farm tours this year like they did last year.  We didn't do them last year because we didn't know they had them.  My friend Tammy went with us this year.  We saw Sparty, which you were very excited about, cows, sheep and lambs, piglets, chicks, goats and kids, and you got to hold a duckling.  We also got to see a horse demonstrating some rodeo skills.  The horse was clearly your favorite.  You kept reaching out and calling to the horse to "Come here, horsey" while motioning towards yourself.  You seemed to like the goats too.  You kept trying to kiss the goats when they stuck their heads through the bars.  When you were holding the duckling you kept saying, "Awww...it's a baby!"
You were interested in the corn mascot, until you got up close.

Petting a hen.  They are surprisingly soft and docile.

The duckling.  This was my favorite.
You actually pet the cow this year.  You pet her belly and her face.  You seemed to not want to leave.

You also weren't afraid of the piglets this year.  I think it was because they didn't squeal at you this time.

The goats.  Dad said you pushed a kid out of your way to get to the goat.

Watching the horse.

When you saw her riding, you yelled, "She's a cowgirl!"
Trying to kiss a goat.  You always tell me to never kiss a frog.  Apparently the rules are different for goats.

A miniature horse.

Just like the zoo, you were very interested in seeing all the animals, but you'd spend 2 minutes there and  then say, "I want to see something else."  Hopefully you shop that way too!  I'm also glad you didn't want to stop at any of the other kid activity tables.  I'd rather just see the animals with you.
