Your grandma

I haven't quite figured what to write about this, but it feels like it should be written. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 your grandma passed away. Your dad had Wednesday off so we had made plans to go down to visit. Turned out our Wednesday visit was to plan her funeral instead. Two days later, Friday, August 26, 2011 we buried her next to your grandpa and great grandma. Just before we lowered her casket into the ground, you said, "I love you, Grandma. I'll miss you." Even though I told you to say it, it still helped my ears to hear you say it.

You will continue to know who your grandma is. We'll share pictures and stories with you. Every time you do something like me or act like me, I'll know she's here since her mantra whenever she was flustered with me was, "I hope you have one just like you!" I'm pretty sure you grandma was proud of me so I'll take that as a compliment. I KNOW she was proud of you. Numerous people at the funeral said you were the first thing she would talk about when she saw them. I am very sorry that she can't make more memories with you, but you will know her through the memories we share with you. That will have to be the best we can do to keep you familiar with a wonderful, strong, stubborn, determined, caring woman.
