Mother's Day

My first mother's day has been great. Your dad made breakfast for me while you and I played on the floor. We then put together your new convertible car seat. You still fit in your other carrying car seat but Babie's R Us was having a good deal and your dad wanted to begin using them. They're pretty cushy! It looks more comfortable than your other chair.

I kind of got spoiled and had a mother's day weekend. You and I were going to Lauren Lennon's baby shower yesterday. It was a surprise. They're having a boy for their second kid. It was a small gathering - just the group of us volleyball girls and our moms. We were trying to be quiet in the basement once Lauren was in the house and before she came downstairs. You kept giggling at people! Lauren was really surprised to see us. We also stopped at your grandma's house yesterday. At both places you were happy on the floor and when I was holding you. Just like always, you weren't too thrilled with anyone else holding you though. You were ok with grandma holding you while she gave you some banana though!

Since we were going to be seeing people, your dad gave me my mother's day gift a day early so I could show it off. With the things he had been saying, I was expecting a mother's ring with your birthstone in it. Turns out I was wrong. He did a pendant instead with your birthdstone and some other diamonds. It's beautiful! He said you helped pick it out and design it, so thank you! I love being your mom. Your dad also said you guys had designed it so if baby 2 (or 3) come along there's room to add those birthstones too.
