Let me tell you how hard it is to find a real rocking chair and not one of those gliders! I loved my grandma's rocking chair. Whenever I go to my friend Brian's house, I always sit in his rocking chair. There was no way I was getting a glider. Your father and I looked at a bunch of furniture stores and online and didn't really see one we liked for an acceptable price. ($500 for a rocking chair - which is more than the crib we want - seemed a little excessive.)
We happened into Art Van yesterday and found exactly what we were looking for. We put it together tonight and it looks great in the room. (Notice Dixie in what will probably become a permanent spot for her.) Your dad also finished putting the rest of the organizing stuff into your closet so we are all set for whatever people give us. He's convinced you'll have 20-some pairs of shoes. I said that would be foolish at the rate you'll grow out of them and if we end up with 20-some pairs of shoes, it's not me buying them!
He's currently installing outlet safety plugs all over the house (even though you won't be here until the end of October and you won't be mobile for another 6-9 months after that). I'm not sure what he's going to do during the typical nesting phase...
