Emma, you are a great big sister already. We had to take Stella to the doctor last Monday and she was not happy the majority of the car ride there. You started singing "Twinkle Little Star" to her. She eventually calmed down.
Stella, in addition to being smaller than Emma was, you are SO different already. At this age, Emma didn't want to be put down to sleep or squirm or anything. She would fuss and cry. If we rocked her for a very long time, we could put her down in her crib for about 2 hours before she was awake again. We're able to put you down in the pack 'n play to sleep at night and you'll sleep a good 3-3.5 hours no problem. We can put you down drowsy and you'll continue to just fall asleep. (For example, I fed you this morning, dad took you and changed you, held you for a bit. Then he put you down in your crib while I was getting Emma breakfast. You rolled on your side and finished falling asleep.)
Stella, you also sleep like your dad does: on your side, top leg thrown way over with your hands near your face. That makes sense given how I usually felt you were laying when you were in my belly. You're supposed to sleep on your back though according to all the doctors, but you still roll on your side on your own anyway. The pediatrician at the hospital said to not prop you though so there's not much we can do about it. You don't ever seem to want to roll to your belly so I'm not too concerned about your nose getting stuck in the mattress.
Somehow we're better at this parenting thing as a whole. We have managed a sit-down family meal for the last 5 days that we've been home. We didn't manage that until Emma was about 2-2.5 weeks old. We're pretty impressed. With Stella so much more laid back we've managed to do more. Last night I was actually able to get down and play with Emma and throw her around again. It was so nice.
