Today Dad asked you where your bink was. You turned, looked at it, and pointed.
You're becoming quite the social butterfly. Last week Friday we went to Leo's like we usually do and you sat with Craig for a bit. Then we went to the high school Homecoming football game. You went to Deb, Steve, Jen, and Brian all by choice. You were very interested in Julie, Jen and Steve's daughter, but she was no so interested in you. You'd reach for her and she'd scoot back as far as she could in Jen's lap. You just wanted to play with her zipper and her soft jacket. You also greet the other parents when they drop their kids off at daycare.
Dad had to go to Phoenix, Arizona for work this past week from Sunday to Thursday so it was just the two of us. Sunday went great. We went to Horrocks. While checking out, you signed "more" because it was getting close to lunch time. The check out lady asked if you were trying to clap and I informed her you were signing. She was blown away! She asked how old you were. She kept watching you waiting for you to sign again so it took about 5 extra minutes to check out than normal.
Monday night was interesting. We got home in the afternoon, grabbed some food, and then headed to the soccer game. When we got home, you were crawling behind me and I backed up and accidentally stepped on 2 of your fingers. Not with all my weight, fortunately, but enough to hurt you. You began to cry. You have this silent cry where your eyes are closed tight, mouth wide open, but no sound comes out. You also don't inhale so your mouth and tongue began to turn blue. This has happened a few times before. I was yelling your name, trying to gently shake you to get you in another position to where you'd inhale. Nothing worked. You laid your head on my shoulder and I thought you were finally comforted. Your eyes were part open and rolled back in your head. I realized you had passed out. You came to after about 2 seconds and took a huge inhale of air and began crying again. I laid you down flat so you could get some air in you and just let you cry. After that I put your bink in your mouth again and you calmed down. It was really scary. For a split second I thought, "Am I going to have to do CPR on my kid?"
Tuesday we came downstairs before dinner and you pulled yourself up on the coffee table like normal. I turned to put the gate up across the stairs. As my back was to you, you fell and smacked your mouth on the bottom of the coffee table. When I picked you up your mouth was bleeding. We went to the bathroom to check everything out and get some gauze and try to staunch it. I was attempting to put pressure on it but that just made you cry more, which made more blood come. We went outside to distract you so you'd stop crying and it would stop bleeding on its own. I'm still not sure what was actually bleeding: your teeth seemed fine, it looked like it was coming from your upper gums, but I didn't see a cut and your teeth weren't loose. You seem ok now.
Wednesday I was just hoping for no mishaps. You had no mishaps, but while I was putting you to sleep Kaya threw up in her kennel. At least it was easy clean up.
I figured you were putting all your mishaps in while I was home with you since Dad would have freaked out over you getting hurt or passing out.
