The day we told the family

We had planned on a family dinner out with everyone to tell them about you. We had to do our best to not let on to your Grandpa and Grandma Vickie that Grandma Mary and the rest of that family would be there, or vice versa. We figured if they knew the WHOLE family was going to be there, they might be suspect. We called everyone about 2 weeks in advance to make sure they could be there. Monday, April 6 (the big day) comes and we find out that Grandma Vickie is sick and not sure she can make it. Greataunt Marilyn and your cousins Jason and Anita will be at a CPR class that starts at 6:30 (dinner was at 7). We thought all was lost. Then your dad came up with a great idea:

We went down early and saw Greataunt Marilyn and cousin Jason and told them (and played with your cousin Tyler too!) Jason thinks you're a boy since I haven't been very sick and just been sleeping a lot (10-12 hours a day! It's like I'm a teenage boy or something!)

Then we went to see your Grandpa and Grandma Vickie. We had wrapped up a bib that said "I love my Grandma" and a picture frame that said "I love my Grandpa" and a "Grandparents" magazine. We told your Grandma it was a "get-well-soon-gift". She opened it, looked at me and said, "Are you serious?" and started crying. Your Grandpa was sitting across the room wondering what in the world was going on! Why all the fuss over a "get well soon" gift? She handed the frame to your Grandpa and he said, "Really? This is unexpected!" Then she called your Uncle TJ and Aunt Kellyn. They were so excited and surprised!

From their house, we went to see your Great Grandpa and we told him. He got a big smile all over his face! He helped us find some of your mom's favorite books that she read when she was small with your Great Grandma.

Then we went to dinner where we told your Grandma Mary and Greatuncle Denny. We had wrapped up the same "Grandparents" magazine and a one-sie that said, "That's it! I'm going to Grandmas" for Grandma Mary. She opened it and got a smile on her face and said, "I knew something was different! I thought so! A mother knows...you had been acting funny." Greatuncle Denny was excited and surprised too!

Needless to say, everyone is excited to see you! We have an ultrasound on April 22 so we'll get to see you first!
